Launch
The Staying Well with
Type 2 Diabetes resource kit was launched at Te Rau Aroha Marae in Bluff on the
3rd of July 2006.
80 local health care
providers and people with diabetes gathered to welcome this new resource. The
kit developed by PHARMAC with the support of Diabetes New Zealand. It includes
an education flip chart for diabetes educators to use with people with diabets,
a medication information pad with details on the most common diabetes such as
blood glucose levels.
The kit is available to
all diabetes health workers from Bluff to Cape Reinga, with a particular focus
on targeting rural communites. The kit is designed to empower people with Type
2 diabetes to take respinsibility for changing their lifestyle and managing
their diabetes.
